DreamChaser is founded on the belief that every child deserves a restful night’s sleep.
I combine expertise in sleep science with compassionate parenting support and I am dedicated to making a meaningful impact on families’ lives.

My youngest son had become nocturnal. He is autistic and home educated so had no need to get up in the morning.

He had trouble getting to sleep at night and so went to sleep later and later until he was sleeping during the day and was awake all night. He would wet the bed in the day too as his circadian rhythm was all out of sync

As a health visitor with a knowledge in sleep management, I had an idea of how to change his sleep back to ‘normal’ without knowing I was implementing the ‘chronotherapy’ technique, which is where the child goes to sleep 3hrs later than they have been. I did not learn the term until I completed my 1st sleep training course.

However despite getting his sleep back, my son would slip back into the nocturnal cycle again and again.

I also didn’t have the complete confidence I was doing the right thing because it occurred again and again.

Completing the Paediatric Sleep Training for Professionals course helped me to gain the confidence in what I was doing was correct. Learning all about the chemicals that are involved in the process of sleep made me realise how intricate sleep actually is.

Further studies in sleep management with the course Autism Sleep Certification helped me to understand how important the environment and actually the whole 24 hour day is, in relation to a child’s sleep.

With all this knowledge, I was able to draw up a sleep plan for my own son with a set schedule each night to signal to his body that it is time for bed. He now sleeps through the night and actually gets tired at a normal time. I do have to watch this does not slip when his friends are on half term meaning he wants to stay up longer or if I’m tired, otherwise we end up back at square one.

STEP TWO : SLEEP ANALYSIS QUESTIONNAIRE

I will send you an in depth sleep analysis questionnaire that will allow me to fully assess and analyse so I can suggest changes and techniques specific to your child

 

STEP THREE : CUSTOM SLEEP PLAN

Using the information you have given me I will build a custom made, bespoke sleep plan, taking into account your child's unique SEN needs.

STEP FOUR : CUSTOM SUPPORT

Up to four weeks support via WhatsApp, phone or email. We will work together closely to monitor what works and doesn't work, adapting and changing the plan to suit
